For most of my career, I never thought of myself as someone with advice to give.

I simply tried to do good work. That's just in my DNA perhaps.

Over the years, I noticed that as I hopped platforms, clients followed me. They didn't remember me because I worked the fastest or charged the least.

In fact, with my disability, chronic illness, and major setbacks of life, I sometimes had to ask for extra time. My prices for some projects are 8x the going market price, if we consider the brief and the corresponding freelance rates on various platforms.

They came back because I tried to understand what they were really trying to achieve and did my very best to help them achieve it.

That way of working has shaped my career more than any platform, tool or productivity hack ever has.

This space is my attempt to put those lessons into words.

The Extra Mile is not about working longer hours or glorifying overwork. It is about thoughtful work. It is about looking beyond the task to understand the purpose behind it. It is about using professional judgement, communicating clearly, building trust, and leaving every project a little better than you found it.

I'm not here to teach shortcuts or promise overnight success. There are already many people doing that, and some do it very well.

Instead, I want to explore a different question:

What makes someone the kind of professional that clients genuinely trust and remember?

The ideas I share here will come from real projects, real observations and real mistakes. Some will be small lessons. Others may grow into frameworks, checklists, or conversations. Together, I hope they form a body of work about craftsmanship, reliability, and thoughtful professional practice.
